It has been quite a crappy Summer this year. Not that I have been in Switzerland long enough to see the difference but come on, I know how Summer should be! Since the weather prognosis says its gonna be beautiful sunny 26 degree yesterday so we head off to the mountains right away! And to 2350m up we went. We drove about 2 hours and arrived in Brienz where we took a very old steam train that was build in 1891 all the way up to Rothorn. It was a pretty steep one hour ride, with magnificent scenery.
We did a little hike to the lake and enjoy the afternoon soaking up the sun. I think I underestimate how steep the mountain was and dare enough to wear only my Nike running shoes. Big mistake. I should have worn my hiking boots, be it how horrendous it looks. I think I might have to come back again for another hike, properly.
The view up here is amazing. I cannot believe what I have been missing all these years living in a tiny island with only a hill that is only 162m tall. I wish so much to be a bird right at that moment, to roam around freely in the big blue sky. Ah, Life!
